Bergamo

Bergamo is a historic city located in the alpine Lombardy region of northern Italy, serving as the seat of the Province of Bergamo. Situated approximately forty kilometers northeast of Milan, it lies near several major alpine lakes, including Como and Iseo, with the Bergamo Alps rising immediately to the north. The city is famously divided into two distinct sections: the modern lower city and the ancient upper city, known as Città Alta.
