Sibbesborg

Sibbesborg is a former medieval castle located in Sipoo, within the Uusimaa region of Finland. Constructed primarily from brick and wood during the late 14th century, the fortress originally stood on an island. However, due to the natural geological phenomenon of post-glacial rebound, the land rose over the centuries, firmly connecting the hill to the mainland by the 17th century. Today, the site is situated on a forested hill that can be accessed on foot, though no standing structures remain from the original complex.
