Făgăraș Castle

Făgăraș Citadel, known locally as Cetatea Făgărașului, is a historic monument located in the town of Făgăraș within Brașov County, Romania. Construction of the stone fortress began in 1310 on the site of a twelfth-century wooden fortification that was likely destroyed during the Mongol invasion of 1241.
