Czyżów Szlachecki Castle

Czyżów Szlachecki Castle is a historic Baroque structure situated in the village of Czyżów Szlachecki within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship of Poland. Although the current edifice dates back to the 18th century, it stands on the foundational site of a much older fortress known as Czyżowski Castle, which originally dates to the 15th century. This strategic reuse of earlier foundations links the modern building to centuries of local history, preserving the legacy of the medieval stronghold while showcasing the architectural elegance of the Baroque period. The property has experienced significant changes in ownership and condition throughout its recent history. After undergoing a major restoration effort in 1978 to preserve its structural integrity and aesthetic features, the castle was sold in 1996 to entrepreneurs from the nearby city of Mielec. This transfer marked a new chapter for the site, shifting its trajectory from a purely historical monument toward a potential commercial or hospitality venture. Today, the castle is often associated with hotel services, indicating its adaptation for modern tourism while maintaining its status as a protected historic site.
