The Castello normanno, also known as the Castle of the Sangro Counts, is a historic fortification located in Anversa degli Abruzzi within the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of central-southern Italy. Although its name suggests an earlier origin, the structure in its current form was primarily constructed during the 15th century by Antonio di Sangro. This later construction was built directly upon the ruins of a preexisting defensive tower that dated back to the 12th or 13th century, effectively bridging the architectural history from the Middle Ages through the early modern period. The site represents a significant layering of regional military history, evolving from a medieval outpost to a more substantial Renaissance-era residence.

Architecturally, the castle features a main body designed as a stone parallelepiped, accompanied by the remaining ruins of a tower situated on one side.
