Tekkalakote Fort

Tekkalakote, also known as Tekkalakota, is a panchayat town located in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district in Karnataka, India. The settlement is situated at an elevation of 401 meters and covers an area of approximately 46.13 square kilometers. According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 26,224 residents with a population density of 511.12 per square kilometer. The town is notable as a prehistoric Neolithic archaeological site, indicating human habitation and activity in the region during ancient times.

Administratively, Tekkalakote functions as a revenue hobli and town panchayat with an elected governance structure consisting of 20 wards. The town's executive head is a Chief Officer, with ward elections held every five years to select ward councillors, who then elect a president and vice president among themselves. The nearby settlement of Devinagara, located approximately 2 kilometers away, falls under Tekkalakote's direct administration. For law and order, Tekkalakote operates as a police circle with offices of a Circle Inspector and Police Sub-Inspector stationed in the town's outskirts.
