Tauț

Tauț is a commune located in Arad County, Romania, situated within the contact zone of the Cigherului Hills and Zărandului Mountains. First documented in 1496, the area encompasses four villages and covers over ten thousand hectares. While primarily an agricultural region with resources like diatomite, it has evolved into a popular local resort destination. Residents from the nearby city of Arad frequently visit or purchase vacation cottages here to enjoy the rural landscape and recreational facilities, marking a significant shift toward tourism in the local economy.

The site holds notable historical significance due to the presence of a medieval castle dating from the 13th to 15th centuries.
