Singatalur Fort

Singatalur is a village located in the Mundargi taluk of Gadag district in Karnataka, India, positioned south of both the district headquarters in Gadag and the taluka headquarters in Mundargi. According to the 2011 Census of India, the village has a population of 3,069 residents, comprising 1,577 males and 1,492 females. The village is situated near the Tungabhadra River, which plays an important role in the local economy and infrastructure.

The village is primarily known for the ancient Shree Veerabhadreshwara Temple, which is located on a hilltop overlooking the Tungabhadra River. This historic temple has undergone recent renovations and is now constructed entirely in granite, attracting an increasing number of pilgrims and visitors daily. The temple holds significant religious and cultural importance for the region.

In addition to its religious heritage, Singatalur is notable for the Singatalur Lift Irrigation Project, which operates on the Tungabhadra River. This irrigation project was designed to provide water resources to approximately 8,000 acres of agricultural land, making it an important infrastructure development for the local farming community and the region's agricultural productivity.
