Shirasangi Fort
Shirasangi is a historic village located in the Belagavi district of Karnataka, India, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and ancient monuments. While often referred to as Shirasangi Fort in local contexts, the site technically features the Sirsangi Vaade, a small fort historically associated with the family of Shri Tyagaveera Lingraj Desai. The settlement serves as a significant spiritual hub, most famous for the Shri Kalikadevi Temple. According to local legend, this sacred site dates back to ancient times when the sage Shringa Maharishi worshipped Goddess Kalikadevi here, requesting her blessings for the land, which led to the temple's establishment.
