Sarmato

Sarmato is a historic municipality located in the Province of Piacenza within the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Situated in the Po Valley near the confluence of the Po and Tidone rivers, it lies approximately 15 kilometers west of Piacenza and borders the Lombardy region. While often mistaken for a single fortress, Sarmato is a communal town comprising the main settlement and several surrounding boroughs such as Veratto and Agazzino.
