Saint-Pierre Castle is a historic fortress situated in the town of Saint-Pierre within the Aosta Valley region of Italy. Originally constructed in the late 12th century, the early structure was a modest defensive installation consisting primarily of basic walls and two towers. Over the following centuries, the property changed hands multiple times, including periods of ownership by the influential House of Savoy. Its transformation into a grand fortified residence occurred in the 17th century when it was purchased by the local noble House of Roncas. This family significantly expanded the original medieval footprint, establishing the architectural foundation that defines the site today.

Following a period of decline and disrepair, the castle was acquired in the 1870s by Baron Emanuele Bollati, who undertook extensive renovations to modernize its features and restore its former glory. The estate remained within the Bollati family until the 20th century, at which point it was transferred to the municipal authority of Saint-Pierre. Today, the castle serves a cultural purpose as the home of the Regional Museum of Natural Science, allowing visitors to explore both its historical interiors and scientific exhibits. Notable interior details include restored fireplaces that highlight the Baron's refurbishment efforts.

The site holds additional historical interest due to an 1824 sketch created by the traveling artist James Duffield Harding, which documents the castle's appearance prior to the major 19th-century renovations. Visually, the fortress is often viewed in conjunction with the parish church of Saint-Pierre, a striking stucco-white building constructed in 1872 that stands prominently in the foreground. As one of the many castles dotting the Aosta Valley landscape, Saint-Pierre Castle represents a layered history of military defense, noble residence, and modern public stewardship.
