Located south of the district headquarters in Gadag and the taluk center in Mundargi, the settlement is geographically defined by its surrounding hills and proximity to the Tungabhadra River. While primarily known as a rural community with a population recorded at over four thousand in the 2001 census, the area has gained modern significance through the construction of the Singatalur Lift Irrigation Project, locally referred to as the Huli Guddada Dam. This infrastructure, built approximately half a kilometer from the village near the river, supports local agriculture. Additionally, the windy terrain of the surrounding hills has been utilized for electricity generation via wind mills, blending traditional village life with contemporary energy solutions.
