Gelnica Castle
The castle now exists as ruins in the town of Gelnica. It was originally constructed in the 13th century. After 1528 the original structure was demolished. In the half of the 16th century the castle was built again and extended. In 1685 a fire destroyed the rebuilt fortification, leaving only ruins that survive today. It lies within Slovakia. The ruins remain.
