Feštetić Castle is a historic landmark located in Pribislavec, a village situated near the town of Čakovec in northern Croatia. Originally constructed most likely during the 16th century, the estate was held by the prominent Zrinski family, including Count Adam Zrinski, until the late 17th century. The castle derives its current name from the Croatian-Hungarian Feštetić family, who acquired the property in 1791 and maintained ownership until 1923. Throughout its long history, the structure has endured significant devastation and fire damage during various conflicts over the centuries, yet it was consistently restored, reflecting its resilience and importance to the region.

The architectural character of the castle was profoundly transformed in 1870 under the direction of Count György Festetics. This major reconstruction project replaced earlier designs with a distinctive Neogothic style that defines the building today. Notable features introduced during this renovation include a prominent tower on the southeastern side, elegant bay windows, decorative garlands, and ornate door and window jambs. Prior to this overhaul, the castle was surrounded by a picturesque park and garden containing a chapel, contributing to its reputation as one of the most romantic and beautiful castles in Međimurje County.

Currently, the castle serves a practical civic function as a local primary school, ensuring the building remains active and maintained within the community. Despite its adaptation for educational use, the site retains its historical significance and aesthetic appeal. It stands as a testament to the architectural heritage of the area, blending its storied past involving noble families and wartime survival with its present-day role in serving the local population.
