# Cowd Castle or Choud

- **Notes:** Located across the street from Margaret castles stands Cowd castle, a small two-story tower house built in either the late 15th or early 16th centuries as part of a larger structure built with the intention of protecting the local area and its trade. In 1791, Lord Charles Fitzgerald demolished much of that structure castle for his mansion, Ardglass Castle.
