Brokind Castle, known locally as Brokinds slott, is a historic manor house located south of Linköping in Östergötland, Sweden. The site originally began as a village named Broo before evolving into a fortified estate during the Middle Ages. In the 14th century, it was owned by the prominent Bo Jonsson Grip and subsequently held by the Natt och Dag family until 1706. Notably, between 1562 and 1586, the estate was managed by Baroness Margareta Grip. The property has remained in the possession of the Falkenberg family since 1706, marking a significant period of continuous ownership that shapes its modern identity.

The current structure was constructed between 1727 and 1731 by Anna Maria Falkenberg after the original medieval fortress, which featured a tower, was destroyed by fire in 1726. While the core building dates to the early 18th century, its exterior appearance was significantly altered in 1838 based on designs by architect Abraham Bengtsson Nyström. Historical illustrations from around 1700, featured in Erik Dahlbergh's famous work Suecia antiqua et hodierna, depict the estate prior to the fire and subsequent reconstruction. Today, the castle stands as a well-preserved example of Swedish manor architecture that has adapted over centuries while retaining its historical roots.

Beyond its architectural evolution, Brokind Castle holds cultural significance as a venue for chamber music and public engagement. The estate maintains a connection to its past through preserved gardens and historical records detailing its transformation from a defensive stronghold to a refined residential manor. Its location in Östergötland County places it within a region rich in Swedish heritage, and it continues to serve as a landmark representing the lineage of the Falkenberg family and the broader historical narrative of the area.
