Born Castle, known locally as Schlass Bur or Château de Born, is situated in the center of the small village of Born in south-eastern Luxembourg. The estate lies approximately eight kilometers north of Wasserbillig within the commune of Mompach. While the current structure dates from the 18th century, it was constructed on a site with a much deeper historical lineage. Records indicate that a fortified residence has existed here since at least 1286, originally serving as the seat of the Lords of Born. This long-standing presence connects the location to several notable noble families throughout the centuries, including the houses of Hattstein, Faust d'Aschaffenbourg, and de Villers, who played significant roles in the region's feudal history.
