Baruel Mansion, known locally as Palacete Baruel, is a historic 19th-century residence located at 2677 Voluntários da Pátria street in the Alto de Santana neighborhood of northern São Paulo, Brazil. Construction of the structure was completed in 1879, serving as the administrative headquarters for the extensive Baruel family estate. Designed in the distinctive Norman architectural style, the mansion stands as a significant remnant of the region's past, preserving the historical character of a neighborhood that has otherwise undergone substantial modernization. It is recognized officially as a historic site due to its ability to connect the present day with the area's colonial and imperial-era origins.

The property originally encompassed a vast farm spanning over 24,000 square meters, where crops such as rice, beans, corn, and sugarcane were cultivated using enslaved labor. This agricultural enterprise generated the wealth that allowed the traditional and influential Baruel family to construct such an impressive dwelling. Following the death of the patriarch, Mr. Baruel, the massive estate was subdivided and sold in lots, leading to the urban development seen today. The family's deep ties to the community are further evidenced by their involvement in building the nearby Chapel of Santa Cruz in 1895, while another family residence, the home of Dona Maria, now functions as the Narbal Fontes Library.

Despite its grand design and historical importance, the Baruel Mansion possesses a unique and somewhat mysterious history: it was never actually inhabited by the family for whom it was built. Today, the building has been repurposed and currently operates as a physiotherapy clinic owned by Clínica de Fraturas ZN. Although its original function as a private home was never realized, the structure remains standing as a tangible link to the agricultural economy and social hierarchy of 19th-century São Paulo, offering a rare glimpse into the architectural ambitions of the era amidst a bustling modern city.
