Baranów Sandomierski Castle is a prominent Mannerist structure located in the town of Baranów Sandomierski within the Subcarpathian Voivodeship of south-eastern Poland. Constructed between 1591 and 1606, the edifice was originally commissioned for Andrzej and Rafał Leszczyński and is widely attributed to the renowned Italian architect Santi Gucci, who served as a court artist to King Stephen Báthory. Often referred to as the "little Wawel" due to its architectural grandeur, the castle features richly decorated attics, distinctive side towers, and an elegant arcade courtyard that exemplifies the Polish Mannerist style. Its design was later enhanced in the early seventeenth century with bastion fortifications and interior stucco work by Giovanni Battista Falconi.

The property holds significant historical value due to its succession through several powerful noble families, including the Wiśniowiecki, Sanguszko, Potocki, and Krasicki clans. In the late seventeenth century, it passed to the Lubomirski family via marriage, prompting Prince Józef Karol Lubomirski to hire the Dutch-Polish architect Tylman van Gameren for extensive renovations. Van Gameren added a western wing gallery and embellished the interiors with lavish late-Baroque decorations to house the family's art collection. Tragically, much of this cultural heritage was lost in devastating fires in 1848 and 1898, which destroyed the library and artworks during the tenures of the Krasicki and Dolański families respectively.

Today, the castle has been preserved as a vital cultural landmark and serves multiple modern functions. It operates as a historical museum that showcases its resilient past while simultaneously functioning as a hotel and conference centre. This adaptive reuse ensures that the building remains an active part of the local community and tourism infrastructure. Visitors can explore the restored chambers and courtyards that reflect centuries of architectural evolution, from its Mannerist origins to its Baroque modifications, making it one of the most important historical monuments in the region.
