Arcuș

Arcuș is a commune located in Covasna County within the Transylvania region of Romania. Situated in a hilly landscape between the Baraolt and Bodoc Mountains, it rests at an altitude of 573 meters on the banks of the Arcuș River. The settlement lies approximately six kilometers north of the county seat, Sfântu Gheorghe, and is accessible via county road DJ121B as well as a train station on the main railway line connecting Brașov to Satu Mare. Historically part of the Székely Land, Arcuș operated as part of the neighboring Valea Crișului until it gained status as an independent commune in 2004. Today, it comprises a single village that retains strong cultural ties to its heritage.

The area is demographically distinct, characterized by a significant Székely Hungarian majority which accounted for nearly 96 percent of the population in 2011.
