Tizzano Val Parma

Tizzano Val Parma is a small municipality located in the Province of Parma within the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, situated approximately 35 kilometers southwest of the city of Parma and about 90 kilometers west of Bologna. The comune is positioned at an elevation of 800 meters and covers an area of 78.2 square kilometers. As of 2007, the municipality had a population of 2,096 residents, who are known as Tizzanesi. The municipality is governed by mayor Isabella Rossi and serves as the administrative center for numerous small frazioni, or hamlets, scattered throughout the territory including Albazzano, Antognola, Casale di Vezzano, Carpaneto, and several others.

The area is notable for the Pieve di San Pietro, a significant religious structure visible in the municipality's imagery. Tizzano Val Parma maintains its local identity through its Parmigiano dialect, where the municipality is known locally as Tisàn. The comune functions as a typical Italian rural municipality, preserving traditional characteristics of the Parma province while serving its small resident population.
