Sielecki Castle, known locally as Zamek Sielecki, is a historic fortress located in the Sielc district of Sosnowiec in southern Poland. Situated on the left bank of the Czarna Przemsza River, it holds the distinction of being the oldest building in the city. While earlier beliefs suggested the structure was established in 1620, recent archaeological research and archival queries indicate its origins may date back to the 15th century. The castle was originally constructed as a defensive fortification using broken limestone and brick. In 1620, it was expanded into a four-wing complex featuring corner towers, though a significant fire in 1824 led to major alterations. During its reconstruction in 1832, the east wing containing the entrance gate was demolished and the surrounding moats were filled, transforming the site into the current three-winged building with an open courtyard.

Despite these modifications, the castle retains much of its original defensive character, evidenced by its block shape, four corner towers, and projections on the side wings. The site is officially recognized as a cultural heritage landmark, listed in the Polish Register of Monuments under two separate designations that cover both the castle and its surrounding park complex. Today, the fortress has been repurposed for cultural use and serves as the home of the Sosnowieckie Centrum Sztuki (Sosnowiec Art Center). It remains open to the public, allowing visitors to explore its storied halls and learn about the region's past. As a surviving example of early military architecture in Silesia, Sielecki Castle stands as a testament to the evolving history of Sosnowiec, bridging centuries from its potential medieval roots through its Renaissance expansion to its modern life as an artistic hub.
