Šarengrad castle
Šarengrad Castle is a 15th-century fortress located in Šarengrad, Vukovar-Srijem County, Croatia. This historical site serves as a notable example of medieval fortification within the region.

- The fortress in Šarengrad was built in the 15th century, and was commissioned by Ban Ivan Morović. It was named Voćin. Ban Morović also commissioned the construction of the church and monastery of Saints Peter and Paul in the town. It is known that throughout its turbulent history, the fortress often changed owners. In the 16th century, the Turks captured Šarengrad, as well as numerous other fortresses on the Danube. They allegedly maintained the fortress well. In the 17th century, Šarengrad was taken over by the Austrian army and then by the Counts of Eltz.
