Rey Castle

Rey Castle, also known as Ghal'eh Rey, is an ancient defensive structure situated on a hill above Cheshmeh-Ali in the historic city of Rey, now part of Greater Tehran, Iran. Recognized as an Iranian national heritage site, the fortification dates back to the Median kingdom, originating over 2,300 years ago. While the surrounding settlement shows evidence of habitation since 6000 BCE, the castle itself served as a crucial military stronghold throughout various Persian empires. During the Sasanian era, it functioned as a
