Örtofta Castle

Örtofta Castle, known locally as Örtofta slott, is a historic estate located in Eslöv Municipality within the Scania region of southern Sweden. The origins of the structure date back to the late 15th century, when a castle-like main building was first constructed. Historical records suggest that Tönne Vernersen Parsberg, who died in 1521, was likely responsible for establishing the permanent structure. Remnants of this original 15th-century construction are still integrated into the older sections of the current building, serving as a tangible link to its medieval beginnings.

Over the centuries, the property changed hands through inheritance among various noble families, including the prominent Barnekow family. These owners contributed to the estate's evolution by implementing renovations and developing the surrounding baroque park.
