The Champ d'Or Estate, now rebranded as The Olana, is a distinctive residential building located at 1851 Turbeville Road in Hickory Creek, Denton County, Texas. Constructed in 2002 by Alan and Shirley Goldfield, the name Champ d'Or translates to "Field of Gold," derived from the owners' surname. The structure is a pseudo-French Baroque masterpiece explicitly inspired by the historic Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte near Paris, France. Designed to replicate seventeenth-century French architecture, the estate required five years of planning and construction, utilizing materials sourced from across the United States to achieve its authentic appearance. Spanning twenty-five acres, the property quickly became one of the most unusual and recognizable architectural works in North Texas.

Historically, the estate gained significant notoriety shortly after its completion, featured in countless news articles and prominently highlighted by Forbes Magazine in 2006. Its design excellence was further cemented by its inclusion in Betty Lou Phillips' book on French interior design, where it received extensive coverage. The building's dominance over the local landscape transformed it into a minor tourist attraction, drawing visitors interested in its grand scale and European aesthetic. Despite some challenges regarding citation verification in historical records, its impact on the region's architectural landscape remains well-documented through various media outlets from the mid-2000s.

Today, the property has transitioned from a private residence to a commercial event space. Currently operating under the name The Olana, it is managed by Walters Wedding Estates and serves as a premier wedding venue in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This repurposing allows the public to experience the grounds and the elaborate French Baroque design that once defined a private home. The site continues to stand as a unique landmark in Hickory Creek, preserving the vision of its original builders while adapting to a new role in the local community.
